Like all the other young men in his Italian village, Stefano wants to go to America. There perhaps he can make his fortune. In Genoa he boards a large ship and, after a dangerous crossing, lands in Argentina.

He ekes out a living as a farm worker and by playing the saxophone in a circus. Even as he finds his way in Argentina, he finds himself overcome by memories of Italy, and of his mother. This is a heartwarming story of an emigration – and of self recognition.
