Sidwell lives in a township next to the rubbish dump. Instead of singing in the school choir, he must stay at home to look after his younger brothers and sisters while his mother goes to work for a white family. Then he makes a bet with a neighborhood boy and goes to find five useful items on the rubbish dump.
