Wayra sieht ihr Land
An Aymara girl on the tracks of her history. A picture book from Bolivia
Translated from Spanish by Margreth Wannenmacher
© 1989 Lamuv, Göttingen
36 pages
Ages 6 and up
This is the first long journey Wayra has undertaken with her family. They move through the Andes with their llamas, resting for a while by Lake Titicaca. A friendship develops there between the girl and a local boy. But the journey must continue to arrive at the annual festival, with its great market, on time.
