A crocodile lies in the dark green water, while a ravenous crane is rocked by the waves. We meet a family of fish that promises happiness and seahorses that want to be protected. The large-format pictures are complemented by the thoughts of the Mithila artist, who grew up on the banks of the Ganges, and poems from ancient Tamil literature. Although written some 2000 years ago, these seem startlingly contemporary.
